Built in 1982 and fully refurbished during the winter of 1999, the modern Hotel Astoria Playa has a total of 186 guest rooms, including 162 standard twin rooms and a further 24 singles, that are built over 6 floors and set amidst almost 3,000m2 of landscaped Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with a direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have either pool or garden views. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception desk with currency exchange services and luggage room for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, serving a wide variety of national and international dishes with weekly thematic Gala dinners elaborated with products from the island, as well as a lounge bar with satellite television and pool bar.

Sporting and leisure facilities available for guests include a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with separate children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground, along with a hard surface tennis court, mini golf course and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Astoria Playa also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring pistol shooting, pool games and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
