Built in 1986 and fully renovated during the winter of 1998, the modern low rise Hotel Orquidea Playa has a total of 70 guest rooms, which are built over 2 floors, and set amidst almost 1,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with an open plan kitchenette with electric cooking rings and refrigerator, a combined lounge/dining room with safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, satellite television and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, all guest rooms are also provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange desk, and both luggage and courtesy rooms with showers for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international dishes and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large free form freshwater swimming pool for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a children’s playground with day care centre, and both pool and table tennis tables.

Guests staying at the Hotel Orquidea Playa also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the hotels' own Spa and Wellness Centre, which features a further indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, steam showers, cardiovascular gymnasium and beauty farm, offering guests a variety of cosmetic and other beauty treatments.
