Built in 1970 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2006, the modern Hotel Sol Antillas - Barbados has a total of 757 guest rooms, including 319 standard twin rooms and 10 Junior Suites in the 12 storey Antillas building, and a further 428 twin rooms in the adjacent Barbados building, all of which are then set amidst almost 10,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the magnificent Bay of Palma.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either centrally heated or air conditioned according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, satellite television, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea.

In addition to the above features, a number of guest rooms at the Hotel Sol Antillas - Barbados have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel Sol Antillas - Barbados also offers the use of five large air conditioned conference and meeting rooms, seating a maximum of 350 people, all of which are equipped with a selection of the latest state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment including screens, overhead projectors and a microphone.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes three large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, with separate children's sections, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with sun loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a multi sports activity area, suitable for five a side football and volleyball etc, along with the Rocaventura children's Adventure Park which features a superjumper, zip line and climbing wall.

Guests staying at the Hotel Sol Antillas - Barbados also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the hotels' own Spa and Wellness Centre, which features a smaller heated indoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, and fitness centre with cardiovascular gymnasium and sauna, as well as offering a variety of other beauty and massage treatments.

The Hotel Sol Antillas - Barbados also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment, with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

From May to the end of October each year, the Hotel Sol Antillas - Barbados is a Flintstones themed hotel, and during this time is especially popular with families travelling with young children.

During the summer months, alongside the numerous adult activities, the resident Sol Animation team also provide themed children's clubs with the Baby Rock Club suitable for 0 to 4 years, the Bam Bam Club for 5 to 10 year olds, the Cool Club 10 to 14 years and the Teen Club from 14 to 17 years. Guests are advised that some activities will carry a supplementary charge payable locally.
