Built in 1971 and fully refurbished during the winter of 2001, the modern Hotel Tonga has a total of 406 guest rooms, including 271 standard twin rooms, 51 singles and a further 84 Suites, which are built over 15 floors and set amidst almost 20,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel have a ceiling fan, and are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, a satellite television, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea. In addition to the above features, a daily maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering guests a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian dishes, as well as a games room, laundry and medical services and both pool and lounge bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a choice of 2 large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, with separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, 3 hard surface tennis courts, and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Tonga also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring boules, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
