Paguera majorca

Attractions and Amenities

In keeping with most of the other larger resorts along the south coast, the Majorca Tourist Information Service (OIT - Oficines d'Informacio Turistica de Mallorca) have offices in Paguera at:
Oficina d'Informació Turística de Peguera
Carrer de Ratolí, 1
Paguera
Telephone: +34 971 687 083
Fax: +34 971 685 468
Email: omtpaguera@calvia.com
and this is always a good starting point for the latest information about events and activities in the area.

Most of the south coast resorts on Majorca have a good selection of sandy beaches, and Paguera is no different offering visitors a choice of 3 called "Playa Palmira", "Playa Tora" and "Playa La Romana". These beaches are all then joined by a fairly new traffic free pedestrian promenade running the length of the resort. During the summer months all 3 beaches can become very busy, although in all fairness to the local council, they are usually kept very clean.

Behind the promenade there's a long shopping street know as locally “El Bulevar”, and it's here where most of the restaurants and bars seem to be concentrated. Paguera has an excellent selection of souvenir shops and Spa type supermarkets, which are supported with others selling local arts and crafts and famous designer label clothes.

Based in Paguera, Cruceros Cormoran offers a variety of both 2 and 4 hour cruises along the south coast of Mallorca, calling at the nearby resorts of Camp de Mar and Santa Ponsa. Contact details for more information are:

A number of boat trip operate out of Paguera, including glass bottomed boats that run along the coast, and others that run over to the nature reserve at Dragonera island. The Dragonera Natural Park and the Dragonera Island, is really a 6km long rock that is named because of its likeness to a dragon's back rising out of the water. In 1987 this area of the island was designated a natural conservation area, and has since then enjoyed the protection of the Majorca Council from commercial development. Once there, visitors can visit the small museum and see the remains of a Roman settlement at the Cova de sa Font. Although at its nearest point the island is only 700 metres from the mainland, separated by the ‘Es Freu' channel, private visits to the island are only allowed with an official permit available from the local council offices.

For the more adventurous the village of Cala Fornells is a little over 1/2 an hours walk away. The village is very picturesque and has a number of original terracotta style houses. So, don't forget to take the camera!

Of special interest to tennis enthusiasts, the resort of Paguera is also home to the most visited tennis venue on Mallorca. The Tennis Centre Paguera is truly one of the top venues for tennis enthusiasts, professionals and families, and are proud to include such famous names as Boris Becker, Charly Steeb, Tommy Haas and Steffi Graf, as just a few of the professional tennis players who have trained at their facility. From there you can then continue over the mountains to the exclusive resort of Port d’Andratx and its glamorous marina which has the provision for over 300 moorings.

The south west of the Mallorca around Paguera, has no less than 6 championship standard golf courses. By Majorcan standards, Paguera is well served by public transport. Buses run into Magaluf and Illetas every 1/2 hour, and further afield into Palma and Andraitx every 50 minutes or so.

For that extra special night out whilst on holiday, we can certainly recommend the "Come Fly With Me" show at the nearby Gran Casino Theatre in Sol de Mallorca. Combining the music of Frank Sinatra with the visual spectacle of Cirque Du Soleil, "Come Fly With Me" is set to become one of the hottest productions outside of Broadway this year. With an international cast that features some of world’s greatest acrobats and dancers; the show is set to be an absolute spectacle of delight, the likes of which is rarely seen off Broadway itself. Chris Mann takes on the lead role of "Ol Blue Eyes" himself ... an unnerving experience you’d expect but not for Chris, as he’s widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest Sinatra impersonators. Set in 1959 in the city of New York, the show reflects the vibrant energy of a city at its best. The audience just has to close their eyes to be instantly transported back in time to a period when Rat Pack style ruled the world with their ultimate sophistication and undoubted class. The production values of the show are second to none and it has been painstakingly produced with a relentless eye for period detail and heart stopping dance and acrobatic routines. Created by Globo Balear, the same team that run the massively successful Pirates Adventure in Mallorca, "Come Fly With Me" is sure to be an instant hit, bringing all the quality that you’d expect from a top Broadway experience to this show in Mallorca.
